RRB NTPC (Railway Recruitment Board Non-Technical Popular Categories) is a competitive examination conducted by the Indian Railways to recruit eligible candidates for various non-technical positions in the railway sector. RRB NTPC 2023-Notification:

The RRB NTPC 2023 notification has been released. RRB will release the official notice for 2023 on their official portal candidates can check the website. According to the previous year’s notification trends, it was expected to be released in March 2023. Interested candidates can register on the official website of RRB and then fill out the application form. It is expected that RRB will release more than 30000-35000 vacancies for railway recruitment in the year 2023.

RRB NTPC 2023-Eligibility Criteria:

RRB NTPC releases various posts for the 12th pass or undergraduate candidates. The eligibility criteria are different and are mentioned below in the table. RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria-Important Points:

  • The candidates in their last year or waiting for the result are not eligible to apply.
  • SC/ ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
  • OBC candidates will get a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
  • There will be some additional requirements for a few posts as well. For example – Candidates looking for junior accounts assistant cum typist posts should have typing proficiency in English/ Hindi.
  • Candidates with the following nationalities only can apply
    • A citizen of India,
    • A subject of Bhutan,
    • The subject of Nepal,
    • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle here permanently
    • An Indian-origin person migrated to India from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam and the East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, the united republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Zaire.

RRB NTPC-Application Form 2023:

  • RRB NTPC application form is expected to be released on the official portal of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for different positions. The notification will likely be released in March 2023, and the application forms will be open for interested candidates for around 30-40 days.
  • Candidates have to register themselves and submit their application form before the last date of submission to appear for the exam, as it is the first step for applying.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern-CBT-1:

  • The RRB board conducts the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for screening the aspirants.
  • The duration of the exam is 1.5 hours (90 minutes). For the PWD candidates, the duration of the exam is 120 Minutes.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every wrong attempt question, so prepare well to avoid these negative markings.
  • No marks are deducted if a question is left unanswered.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern-CBT-2:

  • The normalized score of RRB NTPC CBT-1 will be used for shortlisting the candidates for 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.
  • The difficulty level of the exam questions varies depending on the levels of positions.

  • There is a negative marking, with 1/3 of the marks assigned to each question being deducted for every wrong answer.

RRB NTPC 2023-Selection Process:

There are mainly five stages in the RRB NTPC selection process. The selection process for the RRB NTPC 2023 exam is discussed below in detail. Go through it carefully.

  • RRB NTPC 2023: Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT-1)

The first stage of CBT is used for screening the candidates. The first-stage marks will be normalised to shortlist the applicants for the second stage of CBT.

  • RRB NTPC 2023: Computer Based Test 2 (CBT-2)

The candidates who clear the first stage of CBT will have to appear for the second stage of CBT. Candidates who pass the second stage of CBT must appear for the skill exam for the positions they have applied for.

The candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master will have to appear for RRB NTPC CBAT. They need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks to qualify.

The candidates who have applied for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper will have to appear for this test.

The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without editing tools and a spell check facility. 

  • RRB NTPC 2023: Document Verification

Candidates who clear the CBT-1 and CBT-1 and the Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test (where applicable) are called for Document Verification based on merit. Selected individuals will be appointed if they pass the required Medical Fitness Test.

  • RRB NTPC 2023: Medical Examination

The candidates must fulfil the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. The applicants should carefully refer to the medical standards for each position, as the candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) will not be given any alternative.
