The height of the elevated track will average 13 meters and the tunnel will be 150 feet below the surface.
Amidst the dense population of the capital, the metro project has been designed in such a way that minimum land acquisition is required. Government land is needed in most of the areas. There is a proposal to acquire about 75 acres of raiyati land for the depot. In the two corridors of Patna Metro, Danapur Cantt to Patna Junction will pass through about 10.54 km of tunnel in about 17.933 km. Only 7.39 km of elevated track will be constructed.
Similarly, in Corridor-II from Patna Junction to AIR, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, NIT, Moinulhaq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Bhoothnath Road, Zero Mile to Interstate Bus Terminal, 7.926 km of tunnel is to be constructed in 14 kms. Only six km of elevated construction will be done. The longest elevated track on 113 pillars will be from Malahi Pakpi in Kankarbagh to Bus Terminal and underground track from Kankarbagh to Rajendra Nagar Terminal.
Where is the construction, where is the obstacle of the land :Construction has started in Malahi Pakari, but due to encroachment here, work is getting hampered. There is a need for government land near Niyojan Bhawan and Basa Bhawan at Income Tax Golambar. Similarly, Anjuman Islamia Hall Complex near PMCH, NIT Complex, Bailey Road in front of Secretariat Soochna Bhawan, north from Bailey Road, is facing construction hurdles without transfer of government land.
Smart Design of Patna Metro: Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that the smart design of Patna Metro has been done. Wherever the government land is to be transferred, a letter has been written for no objection from the department. The process of acquisition of private land has been started. A joint coordination team of Metro Corporation and district administration has been formed.
