The construction work of Patna Metro will be accelerated from January. Due to the process of acquisition of 76.645 acres of land is going on in front of ISBT which will be completed by December. During the review meeting of the District Project Monitoring Committee under the leadership of DM Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, District Land Acquisition Officer Pramod Kumar said that there is a proposal to acquire 76.645 acres of land of 2 mouza for the depot.
A letter has been sent by the Divisional Commissioner to the Additional Chief Secretary, Land and Revenue Reforms Department. Publication action will be taken at the department level. Claim objection will be taken from the farmers till 60 days from the date of publication at the department level. After this, a notification will be issued under section 90 that the land has been acquired by the government for the manufacture of metro coaches.
With this, a notice will be given to the farmers after preparing the plot. Compensation will be paid to the farmers who bring documents according to the list of plots including photocopy of bank account with photo identity card. The total cost of Patna Metro Rail Project is 13366 crores. From this, two corridors have to be constructed in a length of 32487 km. The first corridor is 17 kms from Danapur to Mithapur and the second corridor is 14.55 kms from Patna Railway Station to ISBT.
It is targeted to be operational in October 2024. Utility shifting work for the construction of 6.60 km elevated metro between ISBT to Malahi Pakari is going on in full swing as of now. NOC from the Ministry of Defense is under process for this.
